Love Verma, President of Meera Prakash Verma Foundation, shared that Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated with the inmates at the Udaipur Central Jail.
The program began with garlanding Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s portrait, followed by the distribution of copies of the Indian Constitution to all inmates. The event was presided over by Rajendra Kumar (Superintendent, Central Jail), with Lal Singh Jhala as the Chief Guest and Professor Sudha Chaudhary (Mohanlal Sukhadia University) as the keynote speaker. Several jail staff members also participated in the celebration.
Verma highlighted that Ambedkar’s thoughts and vision should always remain a part of our personality, helping us grow individually and contribute to the development of society.
Professor Sudha Chaudhary spoke about Ambedkar’s significant contributions to the political, economic, and social upliftment of society and explained his core principles to the inmates, encouraging them to improve themselves even while in the reformation center.
The program concluded with the inmates and guests raising the slogan “Jai Bhim” in honor of Dr. Ambedkar.
